Taliban Sniper
Taliban snipers dressed in casual clothing which helps to keep them discreet in public.
By January 2009 the Taliban made the extremely exaggerated claim that they had killed 5,220
foreign troops, downed 31 aircraft, destroyed 2,818 NATO and Afghan vehicles and killed 7,552
Afghan soldiers and police in 2008 alone. The Associated Press estimated that a total of 286
foreign military personnel were actually killed in Afghanistan in 2008.

Rook
Taliban RPG
In Afghanistan, Mujahideen guerrillas used RPG-7s to destroy Soviet vehicles. To assure a kill,
two or four RPG shooters would be assigned to each vehicle. In areas where vehicles were confined
to a single path, a mountain road, swamps, snow, urban areas, RPG teams trapped convoys by
destroying the first and last vehicles in line, preventing movement of the other vehicles. This
tactic was especially effective in cities.

Knight
Taliban Suicide Bomber
Suicide bombing usually refers to an individual wearing explosives and detonating them in order
to kill others including themselves, a technique pioneered by LTTE. The bomber will conceal
explosives on and around their person, commonly using a vest and will use a timer or some other
trigger to detonate the explosives. The logic behind such attacks is the belief that an IED
delivered by a human has a greater chance of achieving success than any other method of attack. In
addition, there is the psychological impact of terrorists prepared to deliberately sacrifice or
martyr themselves for their cause.

Pawn
Taliban Assault Soldier
An at the ready interpretation of the Taliban soldier dressed in casual clothing for him to
easily blend amongst the civilians, carrying an AK-47. The AK-47 is best described as a hybrid
of previous rifle technology innovations: the double locking lugs and unlocking raceway of
the M1 Garand/M1 carbine, the trigger and safety mechanism of the John Browning designed Remington
Model 8 rifle, and the gas system and layout of the StG44.
